General
Scandinavian Cup consists of 4 speed skating competitions, for the
season 2006/2007 as follows:

The main objective for Scandinavian Cup is to create good
competitions for skaters from the Scandinavian countries not competing
at the World Cup level, and to promote speed skating as a sport in the
Scandinavian countries.
All competitions are international and open for skaters from all ISU
member nations.
All the above mentioned competitions are included in the national Norges
Cup and Sverige-Cup.
Distance program
Men Seniors and Juniors:
Scandinavian Cup 1: 1st day 500-1000-5000. 2nd day 500-1500-10000
Scandinavian Cup 2: 1st day 500-1000-3000, 2nd day 100-500-1500-5000
Scandinavian Cup 3: 1st day 500-1000-3000, 2nd day 500-1500-5000
Scandinavian Cup 4: 1st day 500-1000-3000, 2nd day 500-1000-1500-5000
(sprint and allround combination)
Ladies Seniors and Juniors:
Scandinavian Cup 1: 1st day 500-1000-3000. 2nd day 500-1500-5000
Scandinavian Cup 2: 1st day 500-1000-3000, 2nd day 100-500-1500
Scandinavian Cup 3: 1st day 500-1500, 2nd day 500-1000-3000
Scandinavian Cup 4: 1st day 500-1000-1500, 2nd day 500-1000-3000 (sprint
and allround combination)
Ranking, grouping and drawing procedures
The rules for Norges Cup and Sverige-Cup will be used. The grouping and
drawing of each distance will be based on a time ranking list based on
seasonal best times for each skater. For each sex, Seniors and Juniors
are drawn together.
Point system
For each distance Scandinavian Cup points are awarded for the 12 best
Senior and Junior skaters as follows:
1.=25 pts, 2.=22 pts 3.=20 pts, 4.=18 pts, 5.=16 pts, 6.=14 pts, 7.=12
pts, 8.=10 pts, 9. = 8 pts, 10.=6 pts, 11.=4 pts, 12.=2 pts
A skater can skate a maximum of 4 distances per competition. For the
final competition points will be awarded for sprint and allround
combination as for a single distance.
The final ranking list for the Scandinavian Cup 2007 for Seniors and
Juniors, Ladies and Men, will be based on the total accumulated points
from the 4 competitions.
Prizes
For each single distance competition, prize money will be awarded
according to the rules for Norges Cup and Sverige-Cup. If it is possible
to get ISU development money or sponsor financed money for prizes for
the final point results, information upon this will be given.
