Figure Skating |
|
Norway was one of the big figure skating countries when figure skating developed to the way we know it today in the early 20th century, and Sonja Henie was one of the most famous skaters. Figure Skating is one of the hardest and most difficult sports, and is very popular all over the world, but especially in USA, Canada, France and the asiatic countries. Norway never made it back to the level of "the good old days", but have some promising talents. To reach an international top-level in figure skating, you have to manage it all: the technique, acrobatics, artistery and elegance kombined with excellent koreography and rythm! There are 15 clubs providing figure skating in Norway, and all together there are 300 skaters. At the moment great efforts are being made to establish syncronized skating as a sport in Norway.
